Training for Journalists and Journalism Students

CEL has held training with journalists and journalism students on portraying the LGBTI community in the media. Participants were informed about terminology and how to write an article that would not be homophobic for readers. During the training, some homophobic articles reported in the Kosovo media were also analyzed, and participants were also asked to think about ideas they could write in the future, where those ideas were presented at the end of the training.

Training for Police Officers from Pristina and South Mitrovica

CEL provided training with Police officers from Pristina and South Mitrovica. The training was very successful in raising awareness of the participants, and giving them more information on the issues and the LGBT community. During the training, participants had the opportunity to learn more about LGBTI persons; as well as how to identify and treat cases of violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation / gender identity.

Training with Journalists and Journalism Students

During these two days, participants had the opportunity to learn more about terminology, social journalism - which represents the LGBT community, vulnerable communities and those who are discriminated against. Partly a theory on this type of journalism, fully focusing on interactivity with participants.

Training for Journalists and Journalism Students

CEL provided training for journalists and journalism students on how journalists report about LGBTI issues and the need to challenge discrimination. The training, attended by journalists and journalism students, was conducted by LGBTI rights activist and Albanian journalist Kristi Parent the Youth Initiative for Human Rights.

Awareness-raising training on the rights of LGBTI communities in the municipality of Pristina

CEL organized the workshop "Youth Training" in Pristina. Different lecturers held lectures on Human Rights, with particular focus on LGBT rights, sexual orientation, gender identity, the importance and need for social activism and change, LGBT community legal framework and other topics relevant. Participants had the opportunity to be informed about the LGBT community's position in Kosovo society. The training was attended by 11 participants, who were certified after completion. The Center for Equality and Freedom Center - CEL supported under the #EngagementforEquity - E4E program, which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the Advocacy Training and Resource Center (ATRC)
