Training with Journalists and Journalism Students

CEL held a two-day training with journalists and journalism students on the topic “Ethical reporting on the LGBT community.
During these two days, participants had the opportunity to learn more about terminology, social journalism – which represents the LGBT community, vulnerable communities and those who are discriminated against. Partly a theory on this type of journalism, fully focusing on interactivity with participants.
We also had guests at the training. One of the guests was activist Lendi Mustafa, who enabled the participants to conduct an interview about the moment Lendi decided to open up to his family and friends. Also invited was Arbana Xharra – Editor at Zeri Newspaper – who discussed editorial policies and journalists’ ideas on LGBT topics.
All participants were certified to participate.
The training is part of the Equality Engagement Program, funded by the United States Agency for International Development – USAID and implemented by the Advocacy Training and Resource Center – ATRC.
