Pride Week 2021 was held from June 28th to July 1st, with the slogan “Together and Proud,”
calling for solidarity, equality, justice, and social change.
Together: This emphasized the idea that only united can we create a society that is equal
and dignified for all.
Proud: This highlighted the pride of LGBTQI+ individuals in their identity and
orientation, affirming their presence in all aspects of society.
Throughout the week, various events were organized, including:
Official Opening: The week was officially opened at the Government building, under
the patronage of the Office for Good Governance, Human Rights, Equal Opportunities
and Anti-Discrimination.
“Let’s Pride” Event: This marked the unofficial opening of Pride Week and celebrated
the diversity of LGBTQI+ individuals.
Conference: A conference focused on the Civil Code and inclusivity, with discussions on
same-sex marriage.
Panel Discussions: Discussions on various topics such as the role of lesbian, bisexual,
trans, and queer women in the LGBTQI+ movement, and mental health during the
pandemic.
Cultural Events: A film night, a performance, a drag show, and an art exhibition.
Pride Parade: The culminating event of the week.
In essence, Pride Week 2021 was a celebration of LGBTQI+ identity, a call for equality and
acceptance, and a platform for discussing issues related to the LGBTQI+ community.
