Pride Week 2023 was organized under the slogan “I love you just the way you are,” with the
primary aim of sending a message of support to all those facing the challenges of stress, anxiety,
and depression, which are direct consequences of systemic homophobia and transphobia from
the state, society, and family.
With “I love you just the way you are,” we wanted to remind everyone that they are not alone.
Love, acceptance, and the creation of safe spaces, in addition to professional help, are essential
for preventing and overcoming mental health challenges.
The psychological and emotional well-being of LGBTIQ+ individuals should be a priority for
our institutions and policymakers. For this reason, this Pride Week served as a reminder to us and
state institutions that the lives of LGBTIQ+ people matter.
